Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt will pay a working visit to Armenia on October 18, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
It said Anniken Huitfeldt will meet with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan at the Armenian Foreign Ministry on the same day.
Meetings of the Norwegian foreign minister with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan are also scheduled.
"The goal of the visit is to boost cooperation in the areas of mutual interest and to explore ways to more effectively use the existing potential," the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Norway is one of Armenia's important European partners – Armenia is interested in expanding and deepening cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
Before the arrival in Armenia, the FM will visit Georgia.
In Georgia, the Foreign Minister will meet with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, as well as other parliamentarians. Ms Huitfeldt will also meet with civil society representatives.
