‘Rosatom’ will submit documents within the framework of the tender for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Saudi Arabia.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at the Russian Energy Week conference in Moscow that the documents for this purpose will be submitted soon. He also expressed hope that the cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia will develop not only in the construction of nuclear power plants, but also in the field of using nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes in general.
He added that Russia and Saudi Arabia are discussing joint petrochemical projects on the territory of both Russia and Saudi Arabia.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Russian specialists are ready to participate in exploration work in Saudi Arabia, repair and construction of thermal power plants, as well as renewable energy facilities.
‘Rosatom’ is currently building a nuclear power plant in Turkey and has received a license to build new power units in Hungary.
