Russian President Vladimir Putin sees great prospects in the development of transport corridors in Eurasia, TASS reports.
"Serious prospects are opening up with the reorientation of export and import being carried out by Russia, which promotes the development of transport corridors in Greater Eurasia," Putin said at the CIS summit in the Kazakh capital Astana.
"Therefore, the key task is the organization of the East-West and North-South intra-Eurasian logistics corridors passing through the CIS countries. I believe that this is of interest not only to Russia, but to all our neighbors, it increases transportation opportunities and economic benefits," added Putin.
The Russian president is happy that "a number of important joint documents and decisions aimed at deepening integration in various domains have been prepared” for approval at the end of the aforesaid summit. In his opinion, "all of them are consistent with the realization of the concept of further development of the CIS, the economic development strategy of the CIS until 2023.”
