US lawmakers have developed several packages of projects aimed at condemning Azerbaijani atrocities and providing support to Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Back in mid-September, during the visit of the delegation of the US House of Representatives to Yerevan, the congressmen announced that they were working in that direction. The resolution implies recording, condemning, and extending a helping hand to Armenia and Artsakh for Azerbaijani crimes during and after the 44-day war.
The congressmen's next goal is to deprive Baku of Washington's military support. Such a decision was adopted by Congress during the 1992 war, but the restriction was in effect for about 10 years, and after that the US president was given the right to suspend the resolution if he wished, and Azerbaijan began to regularly receive military aid from the US.
Although this support implies the strengthening of defense systems, raising the level of military education and cannot be used for offensive purposes, this did not stop Azerbaijan and, violating the agreements, used the American aid against Armenia and Artsakh.
Congressmen now want to strip the president of the power to suspend the ban on military aid. Without revealing details yet, they also inform that work is being done in the direction of US-Armenia military cooperation.
