Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday and reiterated his readiness to mediate a peace process with Ukraine.
The Turkish Presidency has confirmed that, in addition, both leaders have advocated working to "boost bilateral relations" between the two countries, while also discussing the latest developments in the framework of the Russian invasion.
In addition, Erdogan has conveyed to Putin that Ankara hopes to be able to "do its bit to find a peaceful solution" to the conflict "for the benefit of all".
The two presidents held another conversation last September in which Erdogan also insisted on acting as a mediator in the negotiation process. In turn, the two discussed the exchange of prisoners of war and the grain export initiative.
