China on Saturday reiterated its resolute position on the Taiwan question in response to Elon Musk's remarks concerning Taiwan, Reuters reports.
Commenting Musk's Taiwan remarks made one day earlier at a daily news briefing in Beijing, Mao Ning, spokeswoman of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said:
"The Taiwan question is China's internal affair. China's position on the Taiwan question has been consistent and clear-cut. We will continue to adhere to the fundamental guideline of 'peaceful reunification and one country, two systems' and will work with the greatest sincerity and exert utmost efforts to achieve peaceful reunification. At the same time, we will take resolute action to utterly defeat any secession attempt by the secessionist forces, prevent interference of external forces and safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity."
