A magnitude 5,5 earthquake that hit 9km south-west from the city of Marand in Iran at 04:21 on October 5 was also felt in Armenia and in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the Armenian Seismic Protection Regional Service said. The earthquake had a depth of 10km and measured 7-8 on the MSK scale at the epicenter.
The earthquake was felt in Armenia’s Syunik Province at an intensity of 5-6 on the MSK scale, 3-4 in Vayots Dzor Province and Ararat Province, 3 in Yerevan, and 3 in Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh.
