Lilit Kirakosyan, deputy of the Armenian Parliament’s ‘Civil Contract’ faction, noted during the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session that the Azerbaijani side spread a message that the elements of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan were transferred to the Armenian side, based on the previously transferred 5 principles.
The parliamentarian asked Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan what those elements are.
“They really handed us such a document. Those 5 well-known principles transferred by Azerbaijan in mid-March have been published. Our society and the international community are well aware of these principles.
We have publicly stated that there is not anything unacceptable to us. This time, the proposals forwarded by the Azerbaijani side are based on these principles. Of course, there are things that we analyze, we will definitely respond. There will be things that will be acceptable to us again, there will be things that will not be acceptable. There will be proposals that we will make, the normal negotiation process will continue,” he said.
The statement issued by Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions the creation of a discussion mechanism between Stepanakert and Baku.
The MP also asked to detail what those mechanisms are.
“There is a point of view to create a channel of dialogue between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan, an international mechanism. Discussions about this are underway. Of course, we have one position, Azerbaijan has another. When we reach a mutually acceptable position, point of view or mechanism, we will definitely inform you,” said Mirzoyan.
