Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, answering the questions of the Public Television Company, referred to the need for international observers on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
“The mission that France has announced is a mission sent by the Ministry of Defense to assess the security situation on the ground for further analysis and assessment.
When we talk about an international observation mission, we mean either a long-term or a permanent observation mission mechanism, one of the most important goals of which is to transmit impartial information about the situation to the relevant international structures, after which appropriate actions will follow. This logic stems from the fact that Azerbaijan never says: I violated the ceasefire. They always try to present that there was some kind of provocation and so on.
Naturally, we deny this baseless information by all possible means, but on the other hand, we say that since this is an ongoing situation, it would be right for the international community to have an observation mission to assess the situation on the spot,” said the Prime Minister.
