During the signing ceremony of the agreements on the incorporation of new territories into Russia in the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the authorities of Ukraine.
“We call on the Kyiv regime to respect the elections of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, only this can be the way to peace. I want the Kyiv authorities and their real masters in the West to listen to me. The people of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye become our citizens and forever. Russia will never betray the residents of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions,” Putin said.
The President of Russia added: “There is no Soviet Union. You can't bring back the past. And Russia doesn't need it anymore. We don't strive for that. But there is nothing stronger than the determination of millions of people who consider themselves a part of Russia by their culture, faith, traditions, and language.”
