Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan discussed regional and international developments in detail with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias. Mirzoyan informed about this during the press conference with Dendias in Armenia's capital Yerevan.
"I presented to my colleague the situation in the South Caucasus, including the consequences of the recent aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
We value the appropriate and adequate response of the international community to the fanatical and criminal aspirations of Azerbaijan against stability and peace. "Inadequate, equalizing responses between the aggressor and the target of aggression lead to new crimes", Mirzoyan said.
In that context, according to Mirzoyan, Greece's position, which is a friendly country, regarding the created situation is appreciated.
"It is clear that the consequences of the aggression must be eliminated, that is, first of all, the Azerbaijani armed forces must leave the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian prisoners of war must be returned, and the ceasefire must be fully observed.
At the same time, the international community must prevent Azerbaijan's adventurous steps and possible new aggressions through clear actions and mechanisms", Mirzoyan said.
