Georgia will begin production of unmanned reconnaissance drones by the end of 2022, Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze said on September 19.
The drones will be produced jointly with a Polish company.
“All formal processes with the Polish company have been completed,” the Minister said.
He did not name the company, but specified that it was a “very well-functioning private enterprise” whose products are “actively used in practice.”
Production is being created on the basis of Delta, the state military scientific and technical center.
In the development concept of the Ministry of Defense for 10 years, the main task is to improve the air defense system. In this regard, the department plans to start procurement this year, which will last four to five years, Burchuladze added.
