The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretariat expressed serious concerns about the clashes on the border with use of heavy weaponry between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on September 14-16 leading to human losses and destruction of civilian infrastructure from both sides.
CSTO has welcomed ceasefire and started talks between Border Guard Services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
“We are confident that mutually acceptable ways will be found to regulate this complex border issue, to reduce tension and prevent further escalation. The use of force if inadmissible,” the statement said.
The conflict should be regulated exceptionally through talks, the CSTO Secretariat said.
