The latest events on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have nothing to do with Karabakh, according to President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
“The latest event has nothing to do with Karabakh, that’s an entirely different area on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. We really regret the loss of life,” Putin told reporters at the end of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization conference.
"We are sorry for this and of course for the victims. But first of all, thanks to Russia's efforts, it became possible to localize this escalation," said Vladimir Putin.
According to him, Russia has enough potential to contribute to the settlement.
