Reports about fighting on the Armenia - Azerbaijan border are extremely worrying, President of the European Council Charles Michel stated on Twitter.
“Need a complete and sustainable ceasefire. There is no alternative to peace and stability - and there is no alternative to diplomacy to ensure that,” Michel said.
Earlier, he informed that at the request of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan to work towards preventing further escalation.
