A resolution of the UN Security Council is not required to decide on a ceasefire at the Zaporozhye NPP and its surroundings, said Stephane Dujarric, Spokesman of the Organization's Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, at a briefing.
“The Secretary-General calls for the cessation of hostilities at the nuclear power plant and surrounding areas. He also calls on the Russian and Ukrainian forces to promise not to conduct military operations,” Dujarric said. According to him, Ukraine and Russia, not the Security Council, should decide on the ceasefire.
