Russian MFA Special Representative Igor Khovaev is currently in Baku to discuss a possible peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced during the weekly briefing, adding that in the near future, Khovaev will also visit Yerevan for the same purpose.
"The word "activation" is not appropriate when talking about the cooperation of the Russian Federation with the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the works aimed at the post-conflict settlement, because that pace and intensity are reconfirmed. We actually see this or that contact on a daily basis," said Zakharova.
Touching upon new possible meetings at a high level, Zakharova noted that this is a question addressed to the Russian President's Office.
The Russian side continues to prioritize the implementation of trilateral statements, including the unblocking of transport links, border delimitation and demarcation, contacts between Baku and Yerevan.
Zakharova added that work is being done in all directions to fully implement the agreements reached, which will contribute to the establishment of stable peace in the South Caucasus.
