On August 31, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenia’s Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense, Major General Edward Asryan received Chip Laitinen, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States of America in Yerevan, and the Defense Attaché of the Embassy, Colonel Gregory Pipes.
Chip Laitinen congratulated Edward Asryan on his assumption of the position of Chief of the General Staff of Armenia’s Armed Forces, wished him an efficient and fruitful work.
During the meeting, issues related to Armenian-American military cooperation in the fields of military medicine, peacekeeping and military education were discussed.
At the request of Chip Laitinen and Gregory Pipes, the Chief of Armenia’s Armed Forces General Staff presented the operational situation and the latest developments in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border zone, the Lachin (Berdzor) Corridor and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
