“The trilateral group with the participation of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia deals with the issues of unblocking trade, economic and transport links in the South Caucasus. It works operatively, by the way, at the same time as the meetings on border delimitation issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Literally, the next few days there were regular contacts. They are trilateral working groups, which were established by the decision of the three leaders on November 9, 2020. Considerable progress has been made in reaching agreements. I hope they will be formulated in the near future,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The Russia Foreign Minister also referred to the cooperation with Azerbaijan and Iran within the framework of the North-South transport corridor.
“Today we talked about the ongoing discussions between Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan regarding the restoration of the small section of the Resht-Astara railway. Contacts of specialists are already planned for September.”
