The Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov reported on Tuesday that Russian Armed Forces repulsed the offensive of the Ukranian Army, provoking significant looses from their side.
"As a result of the defeat of the Ukrainian offensive on Zelenskyy's personal orders in Mikolaiv-Krivyi Rih and other directions, the enemy suffered significant losses. Effective actions of the Russian grouping of troops destroyed 48 tanks, 46 infantry fighting vehicles, 37 other armored fighting vehicles, eight pick-up trucks with large-caliber machine guns and over 1,200 Ukrainian servicemen. During repel of the enemy offensive the Russian troops defeated Ukrainian Armed Force's units of 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade redeployed from western Ukraine. Five soldiers of this brigade laid down their arms and surrendered," Konashenkov said.
To Konashenkov's words Russian forces also destroyed the production shops of the "Intervzryvprom" plant where explosives were produced as reported.
The Spokesman said that Russian air defense systems shot down two Ukrainian military jets.
The Ukrainian side does not confirm or deny CNN's information that 4 villages in the Kherson region have been returned to Kiev's control.
"I am concerned about the fate of the village residents and the units fighting for those territories, so we are not confirming anything yet," said Natalya Gumenyuk, head of the press center of the "South" defense forces of Ukraine.
Commenting on the situation around Kherson, she noted that the fighting continues, the armed forces of Ukraine are trying to improve their positions in order to prevent the advance of the Russian side.
