Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi plans to keep several people at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on a permanent basis. This was announced by Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier, Grossi reported that the IAEA mission to be sent to the ZNPP had been formed and planned to arrive there within a week.
According to Ulyanov, the IAEA mission consists of about 15 members of the agency's secretariat who deal with issues of safeguards and nuclear safety. They are accompanied by several United Nations logistics and security personnel. Ulyanov specified that the mission had departed on the morning of 29 August.
The permanent representative stressed that Russia welcomes the arrival of the mission to the ZNPP, the country has made a significant contribution to the preparation of this mission.
