Germany will not supply weapons to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory. This was announced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday, August 26.
– US President Joe Biden formulated it quite clearly: he said that he would not provide weapons to bomb the territory of Russia. I believe that this principle should be followed by all the others. We will not act alone and will always be guided by what our allies are doing,” Scholz said.
The chancellor also emphasized that Berlin would do everything possible to prevent further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, reports RIA Novosti.
Before this, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that the German government is experiencing an absolute shortage of weapons stocks. However, such a statement cannot be called an absolute truth, since the country’s military-industrial complex has enough volume to create new weapons. This opinion was expressed by military expert Viktor Litovkin to Evening Moscow.
Guardian journalist Dan Sabbagh named five scenarios for the development of the conflict in Ukraine over the next six months. Political scientist Sergei Markov, in an interview with Evening Moscow, assessed the probability of each of them.
