Armenia has a champion in the European Youth Championship goin in Turkey, the Facebook page of the Boxing Federation of Armenia informs.
"Our first gold medalist is Hamest Afrikyan, weighing 42 kg. The Armenian sportswoman had a very difficult fight with Serena Mali representing England. In the first round, the Afrikyan won with a score of 4:1, in the second round, the referees gave the advantage to the English athlete with the same score. The 3rd, decisive round turned out to be quite tough, the competitor was tall and constantly active, but the referees found that the Armenian athlete's strikes were more accurate and awarded us the victory," the post states.
