Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan issued a message of condolence regarding the August 14 Yerevan blast.
“The tragedy that occurred in the “Surmalu” shopping center in Yerevan, claiming numerous lives, became a common calamity for all the citizens of our country.
In these days of mourning declared in the Republic of Armenia, in memory of the victims of the tragedy, I express my heartfelt condolences to the relatives of the victims and share the anguish of the loss. I wish a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.
On the behalf of all of us, I also want to thank the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the employees of the Municipality, our doctors, the employees of other relevant bodies, the representatives of the Armenian Red Cross and our volunteers for their selfless work.
In reference to this terrible tragedy, I once again urge all our citizens, economic entities and competent authorities to be constantly vigilant, to strictly observe safety rules, because the life and health of every citizen of Armenia are priceless”, the message reads.
