Kenneth Roth, Executive Director at Human Rights Watch, referred to the latest gas deal between the EU and Azerbaijan, which is intended to increase the supply from the Caspian country to compensate the lack of Russian gas.
“In its effort to replace Russian gas, the European Union has made another gas deal with an autocratic government -- this time, Azerbaijan -- "in defiance of the bloc’s climate goals and human rights standards", Roth Tweeted.
