A powerful explosion tore through a shopping center in Armenia’s capital on Sunday, August 14, killing at least seven and injuring at least 61 others, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
Firefighters were deployed to the scene while rescuers search for 15 people believed to be trapped underneath the rubble. 15 people were found and rescued from the rubble.
The explosion is understood to have set off in a fireworks storage area in Surmalu market after 1 pm local.
