In Moscow, they believe that the document signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union on increasing the volume of gas supply does not contradict to the provisions of the Declaration of Allied Cooperation signed on February 22, 2022 between Russia and Azerbaijan.
Ivan Nechayev, Deputy Head of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said this during a briefing, answering the question of ‘Lurer’.
According to him, any state has the right to decide with whom and how to develop relations, including in the oil and gas sector.
“In recent years, Azerbaijan has made a significant leap in the direction of socio-economic development. This, of course, increases the interest of international investors in the country. Moscow and Baku are proud of the experience of multi-year effective cooperation in the fuel and energy sector,” said Nechayev, adding that the implementation of long-term agreements on trade and economic cooperation, as well as the development of new investment programs, are on the agenda of both countries.
