Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Cambodia. The sides discussed cooperation in the field of security against the backdrop of US activation in the Asia-Pacific region, the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
“I am convinced that our strategic partnership is one of the foundations for the victory of international law. First of all, it refers to the UN Charter, which declared the fundamental principle of sovereign equality of states. The US violates that principle every day, everywhere, and this, of course, requires a response,” Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the ministers highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation at the UN platform and discussed the issues of reforming the world organization.
