On August 2, Kotayk province’s Governor Aharon Sahakyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri and his delegation. The governor wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"I welcomed and thanked the ambassador for his visit to Kotayk province, emphasizing the deepening of bilateral relations for the benefit of the development and strengthening of neighboring nations and states with historical ties of millennia.
I fully share Mr. Ambassador's belief that our province has huge potential and opportunities, and we should strengthen and make mutual contacts and cooperation as close as possible, turning these opportunities into real development activities.
We held discussions in a number of directions, outlined the ways and sectors that will become a channel in the establishment of relations between the region and different provinces of Iran:
-
Tourism and hospitality
-
Agriculture (livestock breeding)
-
Establishment of intensive gardens
-
Education, culture and sports
-
Organization of exhibitions in the province and in any region of Iran
-
Need to share experience.
In order to achieve success in these and other directions, we have emphasized the contribution of joint efforts.
Once again thanking Mr. Ambassador for his visit to Kotayk province, I assured that the maximum will be done to implement the thoughts and plans expressed during the meeting in a short period of time,” the statement reads.
