The budget deficit of Ukraine will turn out to be almost ten times higher than expected before the conflict.
Before the war, the budget deficit at the end of the year was expected to be 7 billion dollars, but now it is 5 billion dollars every month.
The leadership of Ukraine predicts a budget deficit at the end of the year in the amount of 50 billion dollars. This was stated by Oleg Ustenko, adviser to the president on economic issues, on the air of the telethon on Monday, July 25.
“Our state budget has a monthly deficit of about 5 billion dollars. We planned that it would be 7 billion for the whole year, but we got it for a month. I would expect that by the end of the year we will have a global budget deficit of about 50 billion dollars. It will be about 30-35% of our GDP. This is a very large deficit. This is a problem of war. That is why there is such a deficit,” he explained.
According to the Ministry of Finance, budget deficit for six months is UAH 406.1 billion.
