The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which had previously reported that Kyiv was preparing a provocation with hexane in Slavyansk, called on the UN, the OPCW and the Red Cross to influence the Ukrainian authorities and prevent a tragedy.
“We call on the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to immediately influence the Ukrainian authorities and take effective measures aimed at preventing this provocation,” stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response, head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, noted that the purpose of this provocation is to accuse the troops of Russia and the DPR of “indiscriminate strikes” on potentially dangerous objects. Mizintsev stressed that the Russian Armed Forces, as well as the LDNR military, do not strike at civilian infrastructure facilities.
