After the meeting with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov touched upon the topic of resuming negotiations with Ukraine.
Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia has no doubts about the possibility of resuming negotiations with Ukraine on a wider range of issues. Kyiv has to choose. “The authorities of Ukraine, from the President to the advisors, constantly repeat that there will be no negotiations until Ukraine defeats Russia,” Sergey Lavrov said.
He also referred to the agreements reached in Istanbul, noting that representatives of Russia, Turkey and third parties, will accompany the ships loaded with grain in the Black Sea. According to Lavrov, an agreement was reached in Istanbul: Ukraine is engaged in demining, ships are released to the sea, Russia, Turkey and another participant accompany the ship to the Bosphorus. The Foreign Minister also noted that the Russia-UN memorandum, which was signed in Istanbul with the agreements, obliges Secretary General of the organization Antonio Guterres to start the process and force the West to remove all restrictions on Russian grain exports.
