The border between Iran and Armenia has always been safe, Tehran will not allow it to be harmed, said Shahriar Heydari, chairman of the committee on border issues of the foreign policy and national security committee of the Iranian Parliament. The official thus referred to the statement of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the meeting with Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan within the framework of the 7th summit of the leaders of the guarantor countries of the Astana process that Tehran will not allow the blocking of the border between Iran and Armenia.
“Iran and Armenia prevent any border encroachment and do not need any third party, for example, the Council of Turkey,” the official stressed.
He also emphasized that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved through diplomacy, adding that the territorial integrity of the countries of the region should be preserved.
