On July 19, Foreign Minister of Armenia who is in Poland on an official visit had a meeting with the Marshal of the Senate of Poland Tomasz Grodzki.
The interlocutors agreed that close cooperation in the parliamentary format has an important role in enriching the agenda of Armenian-Polish interstate relations and further deepening the friendly ties. In this regard, the significance of maintaining the dynamics of active mutual visits and contacts at different levels was emphasized.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented the reforms carried out by the Government of Armenia aimed at strengthening democracy, protecting human rights and ensuring the rule of law. Tomasz Grodzki emphasized their full support to Armenia on the path of democratic progress.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister presented to the interlocutor the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, as well as the position of the Armenian side regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that the expansionist rhetoric of Azerbaijan undermines the efforts aimed at establishing regional stability and peace.
Referring to the humanitarian issues resulting from the 44-day war, Foreign Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the necessity of the immediate release and repatriation of Armenian PoWs and civilians illegally held in Azerbaijan, as well as the need to protect the Armenian historical-cultural and religious heritage in the territories fallen under Azerbaijani control.
It was emphasized that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should find its peaceful settlement, around the table of negotiations.
Tomasz Grodzki expressed readiness to assist the efforts of reaching peace.
