Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu inspected the grouping of troops “West”, taking part in a special military operation in Ukraine. This was announced on July 20 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The minister listened to the report of the commander of the group, lieutenant general Andrey Sychevy on the situation and combat missions in the area of responsibility during the special operation. The department informed that Shoigu gave instructions to the group commander to increase the efficiency of destroying drones over areas bordering Russia.
The minister also instructed to strictly suppress the shelling of peaceful residential areas of settlements in Ukraine and in the Donbass, liberated from nationalists.
As reported IA REGNUM Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, during an inspection of the Vostok group performing tasks in Ukraine, said that the priority was the destruction of long-range weapons of the UAF militants.
