On July 19, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Poland on an official visit, had a meeting with Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland Elżbieta Witek.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Elżbieta Witek commended the dynamics of the development of friendly relations between Armenia and Poland based on historical commonalities between the two peoples.
The sides highly valued the close partnership ties and effective cooperation established between the legislative bodies, emphasizing in this regard the role of friendship groups operating in the Parliaments of the two countries, the continuation of high-level mutual visits, and regular contacts between the Parliamentarians.
The interlocutors also referred to the prospects of Armenian-Polish economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the efforts of the Armenian side in promoting the processes of establishing security and stability in the South Caucasus.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia also referred to the humanitarian situation resulting from the Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, in particular, the repatriation of prisoners of war and civilians held in Azerbaijan, the clarification of the fates of the forcibly disappeared persons, the preservation of the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in the territories fallen under Azerbaijani control, the issues of deliberately creating a humanitarian crisis by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh.
