Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Saturday had a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and as part of his working visit to the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
They expressed satisfaction with the high level of relations between the two peoples. Mirzoyan noted that further development of relations with Georgia is of strategic importance for Armenia.
The importance of taking relevant steps to strengthen economic cooperation was emphasized, and the work of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission was stressed.
Avenues for the facilitation of transit cargo transportation and the expansion of transit opportunities via Georgia were discussed as well.
Also, the interlocutors discussed several matters of regional security and stability.
Ararat Mirzoyan expressed gratitude to the Georgian side for hosting a meeting between the FMs of Armenia and Azerbaijan and for its readiness to contribute to peace and stability in the region.
Thoughts were exchanged also on the moralization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
