U.S. President Joe Biden departed for Israel on Tuesday (July 12), where he hoped to use his Middle East trip to deepen Israel's integration in the region and work to make progress on more normal relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, the White House said, Reuters reports.
Biden will also be participating in a four-way virtual summit with the leaders of Israel, the United Arab Emirates and India during his Middle East trip this week, U.S. national security adviser said on Monday (July 11).
Sullivan had told reporters that the summit will focus on food security.
