Japan intends to encourage countries that have not yet imposed sanctions against Russia to do so, Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa announced.
According to Yoshimasa, Tokyo will encourage the G20 member nations currently holding a neutral stance on Russian actions in Ukraine to impose punitive measures against Moscow over its military operation.
"To expand the effectiveness of the sanctions, Japan intends to continue, together with the world community, primarily with the G7 countries, to develop the necessary measures," the official explained.
