By supplying Kyiv with HIMARS MLRS, the United States wants to prolong the conflict at any cost, the Russian Embassy to the US reports.
The Russian Embassy to the United States convicted Washington of an unbridled desire to prolong the conflict in Ukraine at any cost. Thus, the diplomatic mission commented on the decision of the US authorities to provide Kyiv with new HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) in Telegram.
The Russian representation expressed the opinion that by such actions Washington does not bring peace closer, but rather promotes new bloody crimes. The embassy also noted that statements by US officials that military equipment is used for defensive purposes are untenable. In particular, the publication draws attention to the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine “deliver targeted strikes on residential areas of Donetsk.”
Earlier it became known that the United States will allocate another package of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $400 million. Including Kyiv will receive four HIMARS MLRS systems mounted on a wheeled chassis, ammunition for them and artillery shells.
