Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Armenia Mariano Vergara.
The Prime Minister noted that the Government of the Republic of Armenia is interested in developing and expanding cooperation with Argentina in various fields and expressed hope that the Ambassador's vigorous activities will contribute to the strengthening of bilateral ties. According to Nikol Pashinyan, despite the distance between the two countries, Armenia and Argentina have strong relations and good potential to enrich them with new initiatives. The Prime Minister specially emphasized the expansion of economic interaction and trade turnover and added that our country is ready to create favorable conditions for Argentine companies to implement investment projects.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation in international structures, added that the Armenian side is ready to make cooperation in that direction even more effective. At the same time, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide by Argentina.
Ambassador Vergara thanked for the warm reception and noted that various cultural events are being held in Armenia on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Argentina. The Ambassador informed that the creation of the Armenian-Argentine chamber of commerce is being discussed in order to give a new impetus to the cooperation in the field of economy.
In the context of the development of relations between the two countries, Mariano Vergara emphasized the role of the Armenian community in Argentina, which, according to him, is quite consolidated and enjoys great respect in his country.
Issues related to cooperation in agriculture, healthcare, education, culture and other fields were discussed at the meeting. As for the development of bilateral relations, the organization of high-level mutual visits was emphasized.
