It can be stated that the establishment of peace cannot be a one-sided agenda, it should be a so-called counter-constructive movement, addressing the question of whether the peace agenda in today's geopolitical realities has an alternative in relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey, said Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
He stressed that there is no alternative, but it is another matter to what extent we will be able to implement that program.
“My assessment is that there is no alternative today, there was no alternative yesterday, there is no alternative tomorrow, but it is very possible, or, as it is commonly said, the devil is in the details. There is no alternative, and that is the reason why we have done everything we can, we are doing and we will continue to do everything to open an era of peaceful development for Armenia and for our region. Because the alternative is a new war and, for example, Azerbaijan refuses to come to the conversation, publicly accusing Armenia of refusing to talk. Why is this being done? My assessment is one. This is done to legitimize a new war against Armenia. We do not have illusions about the deep goals and intentions of Azerbaijan, but as I said in the National Assembly, in this case, the more principled and important for us is the consistent, patient advancement of the peace agenda. I have said many times that on this path we need strong nerves, balance, maximum non-emotional state,” said the Prime Minister.
