Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the Georgian parliament building, urging the country's authorities to comply with EU demands for candidate status.
The gathered people insisted that if the government does not implement the relevant reforms within half a year, they will start indefinite protests.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and MP Davit Arakhamia, who was accused by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili of obstructing Tbilisi's bid for EU membership, addressed the protesters via video link.
“Ukraine has received the status of an EU candidate country, and you are on that path. We will help you,” the Ukrainian President told the protesters, adding in Georgian, “Ukraine and Georgia are always together.”
Davit Arakhamia called on the Georgian people to pay more attention to the actions of the current Government.
