The decisions made against Ankara at the EU summit in Brussels on June 23-24 are biased, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“EU attempts to legitimize extremist, illegal theses on the eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea, are unacceptable,” the Ministry said, noting that Brussels is on the side of Greece while resolving the issue of the militarization of Cyprus and the Aegean islands.
“These decisions not only do not contribute to the solution of the problem, but also undermine regional stability,” the statement said.
At the same time, Ankara welcomed the granting of Ukraine and Moldova EU candidate status, but described as strange the fact that the Union has not started negotiations on this issue with Albania, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
