Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated at today's press conference that during the meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić he touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process, the consequences of the aggression against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in 2020, and the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
“I especially emphasized the fact that in 2020, by attempting to resolve the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict by force, as well as by invading the sovereign territory of Armenia, Azerbaijan has grossly violated its commitments to the Council of Europe. This fact must be adequately addressed by the Council of Europe and the member states,” Mirzoyan said.
The Armenian Foreign Minister stated that he reaffirmed the readiness of the Armenian Government to make efforts for the establishment of stability and peace in the region.
“In this context, the addressing of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is fundamental, which will include the key points of the final decision on the security of the people of Artsakh, the provision of all rights, and the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The people of Artsakh have the same rights as everyone else. The fact of being in the conflict zone cannot deprive the people of Artsakh of their universal fundamental rights,” he said.
