During the Government session, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the establishment of a park dedicated to the memory of the heroes killed during the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) liberation war and its idea.
“We are implementing a large-scale program, creating a park dedicated to the memory of our martyrs in the area of the Yerevan Botanical Garden. We call the project Life Park. Our logic is that it should be a place, where people go with their families, spend time, have children play, and it should emphasize the logic of life, not death.
During this time, I have met several times with the dear relatives of our victims.
I think that in all cases when there is a subvention program, we must emphasize this logic in order to become as busy place as possible, the victory of life must be the greatest respect for the memory of our martyrs.
Our martyrs have fallen so that Armenia can live, so that Artsakh can live,” Pashinyan said.
The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan noted that the design work started in fall of last year. Now that work is done.
“Two days ago, the project was officially handed over to the Ministry Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. They are currently waiting for an expert opinion. It is envisaged that in the next 2-3 weeks we will have that opinion, we can already start the tender for construction work,” Harutyunyan said.
According to Harutyunyan, the total amount of the project will make about AMD 4.2 billion (about $9.8 million).
