NATO does not intend to intervene in the conflict in Ukraine, US Permanent Representative to the Alliance Julianne Smith expressed conviction.
"Despite some disagreements among NATO allies, the parties agree that the organization will not become a party to this conflict. Joe Biden has not changed his position either, we will not send American troops to Ukraine," Smith stressed.
According to her, at this stage Washington does not expect diplomatic progress in the Russian-Ukrainian contacts mediated by Turkey, as Moscow, according to the official, is not ready to carry out serious diplomatic work to resolve the conflict.
