During a meeting with EU leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized them for delaying the adoption of the sixth package of sanctions against Russia.
“The fifth package of sanctions was set for April 8. 52 days have passed since then,” Zelensky said. According to him, progress in sanctions will force Moscow to seek peace with Kyiv.
The President of Ukraine has reiterated that there can be no compromise at the expense of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The sixth package of sanctions against Moscow, on which the EU countries have not been able to reach a compromise for about a month, should include an oil embargo. Its opponents believe that refusing to buy Russian oil will have very negative impact on the European economy.
