Two humanitarian volunteers were injured in a blast that shook Melitopol this morning, the authorities in the southern Ukrainian city said on Monday, TASS reports.
The blast left a 28-year-old female and a 25-year-old male who have been distributing humanitarian aid in and near the city injured, the local administration said on its Telegram channel.
"The Ukrainian authorities continue their fight against civilians and municipal infrastructure. An investigation is underway, and criminalists are working at the scene of the incident," local officials said.
The blast shook central Melitopol at around 7:40 am Moscow time on Monday. Galina Danilchenko, acting head of the city’s civil-military administration, said during a Rossiya-24 TV broadcast that the two injured people were in a stable condition while receiving the necessary treatment.
The Russian Investigative Committee is probing into the incident in Melitopol in southeastern Ukraine where a car exploded in the city center this morning, the Committee’s press service said in a statement on Monday.
