Secretary of the Security Council of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic Vitaly Balasanyan sent a message on the occasion of the Day of the First Republic of Armenia. It says:
“Dear compatriots,
The glorious victories of May 1918 provided an opportunity to realize the idea of national statehood after a six-century break.
Even though the First Republic had a short life, but its lessons of having a state were passed on to future generations.
The Artsakh movement of the end of the 20th century and the subsequent heroic battles proved our will to preserve the historical achievements, which, regardless of any kind of trial, was not broken, and will not be broken.
The cruel war of 2020 caused great losses, but did not stop the process of Artsakh's Armenian statehood. So, today and in the future our strong faith and selfless, purposeful work will be the guarantee of the existence of the Armenian statehood in general.
I congratulate you on the Day of the First Republic of Armenia, I wish you endurance, unwavering will to overcome difficulties.”
